A PV for “Lock On”, one of the tracks appearing on YUI‘s upcoming album, was aired recently. Download it here.
Quite simply put, great song and PV. I love everything! The sound of “Lock On” reminds me of “It’s All Right“. It’s a really upbeat and refreshing track, which is exactly what I’m looking forward to in the new album.
I like how she changes up her singing to adapt to this style. YUI looks so cute in the video too (even with a bloody cut on her face XD); the long hair look suits her well!
If “Lock On” is a forecast of things to come, then we can except more awesomeness coming our way real soon!

YUI’s 5th original studio album will be coming out next month! Titled “HOW CRAZY YOUR LOVE”, the album will come in the customary limited and regular edition, each with a different cover. This album will include a total of four single tracks, one from the end of last year and three from 2011. In addition, there is also one B-side (“YOU”). That means a total of 8 original tracks from this talented singer-songwriter. According to CDJapan, the DVD that comes with the limited edition will be live footage, although that has yet to be confirmed.
I’ve been a fan of YUI for at least 5 years now, from her very first album. Since then I’ve witnessed her establish her presence in the Japanese music scene as a bona fide singer-songwriter. She’s really grown, and this is readily seen from the image she projects in the covers. To write all your own songs (both music and lyrics) and have good mainstream success at it is not an easy feat, but for YUI it apparently is. Ask anyone to name a popular singer-songwriter nowadays and I guarantee you that YUI will be one of the names uttered.
Her last album and the one before it are the two I own, and I enjoyed them very much. Both exhibit high-quality songwriting and are great for casual listening. I have no doubts that “HOW CRAZY YOUR LOVE” will meet my expectations as well and maybe even exceed them. Since her last album release, I feel like she’s matured again, which could quite possibly translate into superb album tracks.
From my experience YUI’s limited edition items sell out fast, unsurprisingly. Make sure to place your order before it’s too late!
