The PV for Not yet‘s upcoming 4th single Suika BABY was aired last week. Download it here.
This music video is extremely fun and upbeat, going hand in hand with Not yet‘s image as an energetic all-around idol group. The choreography is my favorite part; not only does the dance match the song, but they look very cute in the bathrobe/ribbon outfits. I love the humor they threw in as well. The ending is just priceless LOL.
I’m not sure if I like Suika BABY over their other upbeat releases yet, but I know I do like it at least :). The best part about this song is there are considerably more solo lines for each girl. I’m really glad to see Sasshi getting some more exposure; after listening to her solo debut single I realized just how adorable her singing voice is. Overall this is another great upbeat track from Not yet.
I wonder how Suika BABY will fare against Watarirouka Hashiritai 7‘s upcoming single, which is due out on the same day :).

AKB48 subunit Not yet has announced their new 4th single, Suika BABY, for release at the end of this month! Similar to their past singles, Suika BABY will come in three CD+DVD versions and a CD only version. Each version will feature a different song as the third track. Besides the music video, there will also be exclusive content included on the DVD of each version. First press copies will come with a connecting card as well as a retailer-exclusive bonus photo. Suika BABY is due out on the same day Watarirouka Hashiritai 7, another popular AKB48 subunit, releases their upcoming single.
Last year it was shaved ice, this year it’s watermelon ^o^. What great summer single themes! The CD+DVD covers for Suika BABY are amazing, so amazing that I once again find myself in a familiar predicament: which do I go for?! All three are so vibrant and cheerful. Type A is aturally the default choice for most and has the best all around cover, not to mention Yui looks hot in the black tights and heels @_@.
What’s appealing about Type B is the sky blue background; it has such a “cool feeling”, especially when I think of a hot summer day. Type C’s festive cover is great too, but the main selling point for me is the content; I actually like Yui‘s adorable voice and would love to hear her solo song. The Type C DVD also includes footage of Not yet‘s premium event for their last single; this is probably the best exclusive DVD content offered out of the three versions, making Type C very enticing.
Decisions decisions!!! I definitely cannot get all of them XD. As much as I’d love to I sure as hell am not buying three or four copies of one single. No, I only do that with AKB48‘s releases :P.
Look like it’ll be a battle of the AKB subunits, Not yet vs. Watarirouka Hashiraitai 7! I feel this day would have come sooner or later. I mean, we already saw Sasshi vs. Nogizaka46 earlier this month. Both of their singles got pretty decent sales from all the hype generated prior to release. Could management be utilizing the same marketing strategy to maximize sales? I feel bad for the fans of both groups XD. No doubt there are hardcore wotas who will be buying all copies of one or both releases. I’ve never been big enough on WH7 to buy their stuff, so I’m good.
I’m putting my money on Not yet (literally XD) that they will come out on top based on the fact they have two super huge senbatsu in Yuko and Sasshi, but who knows. Anything with Mayuyu attached to it is not to be taken lightly either. One thing is for sure: the top 2 positions on Oricon’s daily single chart will belong to AKB48 subunits on May 30th XD.

Not yet‘s 3rd single will be released in less than a week. Titled “PERA PERA PERAO”, it will come in three types, each with their own cover and special content. There will also be a fourth theater edition (cover not shown). First press copies of this release will include a photo and a “connecting card”.
It took them long enough to finally release all information regarding this release! Up until a week ago, the only cover revealed was Type A. The info for the DVD content only came out recently too. I wonder what held everything up o.O? I’ve never seen a single/album take so long to fully reveal all track lists and content. I mean the release date for this is literally upon us!
At least now I can finally make my decision on which type to go for. They all seem to give you your money’s worth in terms of content. Not yet’s releases get more complicated with each single they release though -.-. For the first time, they will have three versions each offering a DVD. At this point, I’m inclined to go for Type A and the digest footage of their events. I don’t really have interests in watching a boring talk.
The best cover is probably Type A too, even though all three are pretty lackluster. Yuko’s lips looks really strange with the cherry in her mouth if you take a closer look in Type B XD. I have no idea what they were thinking though…the covers look so low budget :(! The backdrops they used are too dull for such a lively song. Hell, it’s too dull for this group’s image, which screams of energetic youth.
All that aside, this is definitely not a single to be missed for AKB fans. “PERA PERA PERAO” is quite a good song. If you don’t believe me, make sure to check out the PV that was aired last month.
This group only debuted eight months ago…cranking out three singles within that time is not too shabby!

Not yet‘s new single PV aired a while back. This post is quite overdue >_>; Grab the PV here.
Very lovely music video! It really depicts what Not yet is all about, and that is a bright cheery idol unit. They did a great job with the direction of this music video as all the elements come together nicely.
Yuko looks so adorable with her maid outfit and so sexy in the yellow dress @_@. Great hair style in both too! The same can’t be said for Kitarie‘s hair though hehe. I like how Yuko turns around and the music suddenly kicks in in the beginning of the video. It really hits you hard bro!
As for the song, I think I like it a lot :D. The chorus is definitely catchy and the guitar riffs are good. I’m becoming a bigger fan of Yui‘s voice these days. It’s so distinct and doesn’t get drowned out as easily. In addition, there’s an equal amount of solo lines for each girl, which is always a plus.
I’ll most definitely be grabbing a copy (or copies) of this single! Make sure to get yours too!

YONPARA aired on 10-09-2011.
Not yet‘s new show “YONPARA” aired its first episode last week! I was very sad to see “Sashiko no Kuse ni” end, but I’ll gladly accept this show as a suitable replacement :D. From what I understand, the whole concept behind “YONPARA” is that the four members are too busy to actually physically meet in one place. Instead, they do a video conference through Skype along with the MC of the show. I think it’s a really interesting and original idea!
A technical problem could be seen right away though: very bad lag, especially Sasshi‘s connection. To test the latency, the host clapped his hands. As soon as the four members saw that on their ends, they would clap as well. Guess who clapped her hands late, like 3-4 seconds late LOL. Even funnier was that Sasshi kept denying her connection was bad up until this point hahaha.
To me this lag is actually not a bad thing; it adds a dimension of realism that makes the show more authentic. I mean Sasshi is streaming live from a dressing room, Kitarie from a recording studio, Yuko from who knows where, and Yui from inside a car. Sasshi was even seen eating her bento because she was hungry XD.
This first episode mainly featured talk, with some entertaining activity segments. The main one I fondly remember involved the members sticking the pointy tip of a rolled napkin up their noses to induce a sneeze. Yuko was the first to do this and won the competition. The other three members were unsuccessful and took so long that the host got bored and tried it himself LOL. All the meanwhile Yuko was goofing off, putting her face ridiculously close to the camera, drawing caricatures of the others, and making goofy faces. She’s so adorable and fun. I love her so much XD.
To make a long story short, this show rocks! The second episode already aired so I’m really looking forward to more laughs XD.
